I've ran away from bears in Sudbury. They often roam around at night in our city/town. We have lot's of forest areas where they live.

Have you had any crazy encounters with any wild animals?

Had a wild squirrel that followed us home years ago. It wasn't very old, and it followed one of my dogs, tI. (this must have been about 18 years ago now). It even came in the house and kept on rubbing itself inbetween tI's legs, the way a cat does. I think it mistook tI for its mother even though tI looked nothing like a squirrel (she was a golden Retriever).

When driving home from a remote, mountainous area in northern PA, I almost hit a baby black bear that jumped out of the woods! Scary!

Maybe it was horny? LOL

Nah, it was a youngster. I think it was a bit confused.
We gave it some nuts and then my daughter & I took it back to near the trees where it had first found us. But every time we put it on a tree it jumped down and kept on running after us as we tried to move away! It was really, really weird!

You should have kept it as a pet! hehe

The big animal encounters are super scary. The scariest encounter I've had living out in pseudo-country was almost stepping on a copperhead snake that made its way into my garage. Since that day, I've been looking down at my garage floor as I walk through my garage. :p

Are copper-heads poisonous? Hope it was OK? Most snakes I have encountered are actually pretty timid, if they 'feel' you coming they just tend to slither out of your way.

Yes, they are a venomous pit viper. Copperheads can be deadly. When I saw it a used a push broom and wielded it fast out of the garage. I didn't realize though at the time that junior copperheads are more venomous and spit their venom. I'm still freaked out just thinking about it. I'm glad you have nice little timid side-winders. :)

In England the only poisonous snake is the Adder, aka 'The Viper'.
Have enountered a few in my travels, because it is quite common in the heaths and woodlands around where I live. But every time it was only a glimpse of it as it slithered away. Usually early in Spring when it had just come out of hibernation and was slow to respond to our approach - otherwise it would have gotten away far quicker.
Funnily enough when I was young I used to own a snake as a pet, called him 'Sidney'. He was a North African Ring Snake, which is very similar to our own English Grass Snake. He was a right sod that bit anything and anyone, and also had to be fed live prey (usually very small fish). But he wasn't poisonous although nobody seemed to have told him that!
