It helps protect you on-line. It hides your real IP and most, if not all VPN services, do NOT log what sites you visit or your activities on such sites. Many VPNs also employ high strength encryption for added on-line privacy. I love it!
If you don't visit suspicious sites or don't want to hide your real location, you don't need one.I don't use a VPN. I do know people that use them, but I don't really care for it.
Cloudflare’s(1.1.1.1 warp) vpn is free to use. You can install on your desktop. I use it from time to time on my phone.No idea how to get one. Not sure even if this old Dell Latitude could cope with a VPN log-in as it is an ancient Windows 7 machine.
THink it's a minor miracle it can find my own Sky router even though it is less than 10 feet from the machine
