Choosing their name?

Usually based on some distinctive feature. For example, we had a fish whom we called 'Nigel', after Nigel Mansell (because the colour around his lips resembled a moustache :P ).

I tried to come up with a name related to poker for my dog/puppy, and she looks like an Ace, so that's how I came up with her name.

My latest hound, Eden, he came with the name from his sponsors (he is a registered Guide/ASsistance dog)

When I'm choosing a name for a puppy I usually go by their features and personality. When we brought home my two pom's that are litter mates, my dd and I wanted to name them Thor and Loki. It didn't take with my dh lol, so they are Champy Bear (we always have a dog with the name "champ" related to boxing) and our other pom is Snowy Bear. I thought of Scotty for Snowy Bear because he's an orange and white parti pom, and his personality is just like a red head, plus I thought it would work, thinking of Scotty from Star Trek too, but Snowy Bear one over. The "bear" part is just because pom's are little fur balls but with big personalities.

Love this little guy! hehe
Yeah he hasn't been around very long, but he is already a very popular dog. A little girl at Church, a refugee from Hong Kong, is teaching him Chinese. And he is very, very useful around the house for things like licking out the empty cream pots.
