What inspires you to write?

For me it tends to be Fantasy-Medieval but I have done a few contemporary and also historical short novella, usually writing with a friend 'Flare'.
WIth the historicals, we usually go completely to town readling up on the time period (ie pre-Revolutionary France, or Ancient Greece) to try and get all the historical details and any RL persona absolutely correct. That is actually quite encouraging to my artistic Muse, in a way.

Often I have a detailed and proper story plan, all set out in front of me, but the characters in the story then have ... 'ideas' and take the tale away on seriously wide and unexpected tangents!
I usually have a detailed and concrete plan which I try to stick to and usually I don'tCoolness. I don't usually have a plan, just a vague idea.
Speaking of that, I need to end my Lance Saga. He was born in a blaze of almost incompressible energy and chaos, and will die just the same.
He already has bowed out in a complete blaze of heat and fire, remember? At the climax of 'Fetner'!
