Preventing malwares and virus from attacking your device is very important. This is why using anti virus software to prevent that from happening is a must.

Which anti virus software works well for you? Are you using free or paid program?

Used to use Kaspersky but that is a bit long in the tooth. These days used McAfee Live Safe which is so simple that even I can run it and also do checks and quarantines.

I use Windows Defender. It seems to work great! I used to run NOD Smart Security, but when my sub ran out, we decided not to re-new.

I don't use any anti-virus software on my laptop. However, I use a web browser with a pre built-in anti virus/firewall.

Windows 11? Starting with Windows 10, there is built in anti-virus and maleware.....

Yup, same here on this PC, an old Dell Windows 7 one which I still do most of my creative works on.
I also have Windows 10 PC for games whcih just has Windows Defender on it which isn't as good, but I do not visit nearly as many websites with it

I have some friends that swear by Window's Defender. That's the same as Bit Defender, right? Name change? I've used Norton, AVG, but have used McAfee the most. It makes sense you would use Window's Defender on a pc that not used for websites.

Yeah the Web Defender was free with the PC and as I am only really using it for gaming and not browsing/flitting between loads of different websites, it made economic sense not to get anything esle for it. I am typing this on the old Dell Latitude Windows 7 PC which has the McAfee

I was using NOD32 (https://www.eset.com/us/home/antivirus/), which I feel was the best, but haven't had an issue with Windows Firewall and Defender....

For my Windows 11 laptop, I trust Windows Defender (and my own sense of self-preservation) enough not to risk it with anything else. For my Macbook Air, I use Malwarebytes. Macs barely ever get viruses, anyway. And for my Android phone, I just installed Avast, though honestly I may think twice about continuing to keep it installed.

I've been using Malwarebytes for many years. Good stuff. Also tried Norton AV, and McAfee (not at the same time lol), and they both fried my Windows XP system. I'll never use those again.

I think I'll try ESET again. hehehe
